34. Divine healing  -  II

One of the greatest human problems is the search for health. Millions of dollars / euros / rupees, etc. are spent annually on hospitals and on new equipment, but the patients waiting lists get longer. Many are asking  Jeremiah’s question: …..Why…..has not the health of the daughter…..been restored? (Jer. 8: 22). Why are people sick? Why is there no medicine to heal all diseases? Why do doctors fail?

Mc. 5: 25, 26  -  The woman had suffered much from many doctors through the years and had become poor from paying them and was no better, but, in fact, was worse.

Sickness is not meant to be our normal state. Our normal state is meant to be one of holiness and health.

Only when we are disobedient, Satan is in a position to inflict disease. Deut. 28:15, 27  -  …..from which you cannot be healed.

Doctors often fail because a patient should first have sought the Lord, e.g. King Asa: …..yet even in his disease he did not seek the Lord, but the physicians (2Chr.16:12). He died for not getting right with God first.

Any known sin should be confessed before healing is offered. James 5:15,16  -  …..and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed.

The Bible calls Satan the trapper (fowler), and you and I are the birds he is out to get  -  Ps. 91: 3.

Jesus is our Deliverer. He is able to save them to the uttermost who come unto God by Him! Jesus is also the Word of God. It is the Word Itself  That delivers us from the snare of the trapper. The Word Itself has power to deliver:

                Ps.107: 20  -  He sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions;

                Jhn.1:14  -  And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us;

                Rom.1:16  -  …..the gospel (= the Word)…..is the power of God for salvation to every one who believes…..

The Word is the power of God to deliver!

The Word is God’s power to the faint.

Where do we start to faint in our walk of faith? In our minds? Negative thoughts? What’s the solution? Go to the Word, for It’s the power of God to pick you up:

                Is. 40: 30, 31  -  Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the Lord (the Word) will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary;

                Heb.12: 2, 3  -  …..fixing our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of faith, Who, for the joy set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God…..consider Him, Who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you may not grow weary and lose heart.

Don’t let Satan scare you out of what’s yours by right. When you have come to the Lord for something and begun your walk of faith with Him for it, stay with Him. Satan cannot harm you!

Jhn.16: 33 (listen to what it says)  -  These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.

Satan’s power removed

Luke 10:19  -  Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall injure you.

Jesus says actually, that He has deprived Satan of all his power, and that He has overcome him for us. Satan is a big bluff; the world, and hence the prince of the world, being the devil, has been deprived of all power to harm us.

Look at Jhn.14: 27. Stop allowing yourself to be agitated and distressed; do not permit yourself to be fearful  and intimidated, or to become cowardly and unsettled!

The devil wants to intimidate you with the sight of the circumstances. He used the same tactic on Peter; he got him  seeing the wind (Matt.14: 30), and Peter started to sink; he took his eyes off Jesus.

Be encouraged! The moment Peter realised what was going on, he cried to the Lord, and He delivered him!

God knows: fears and shocks will try to come upon you during your walk of faith. Therefore, He has made provision in His Word; look e.g. at Is. 54:15,17  -  If anyone fiercely assails you…..(but)…..whoever assails you will fall because of you…..No weapon that is formed against you, shall prosper.

Tell your fears, intimidation, shock tactics to go in the name of Jesus.

Also sickness, etc.

Say:

In the Name of Jesus Christ I will not accept any other evidence for my answered prayer than the Word of God!

I am a servant of the Lord.

I am a child of the Most High God!

I am walking in the New Covenant.

I am a partaker of the blessing of Abraham (Gal.3:14).

My needs are met in full by Jesus Christ according to His riches in glory.

In His Name,

Amen!!!
